FORGOT PASSWORD - VERIFICATION EMAIL NOT BEING SENT
I'm trying to access another account I have. I try to reset my password but the email doesn't ever get sent to me. THEN I try to make a support ticket. I fill in the details, it says i need a code that we sent through that email otherwise the ticket wont be posted. Well guess what? I didn't get that email either! I try getting the email sent to my own personal email and still it doesn't come through.

So what the hell am I supposed to do when emails aren't being sent and it's impossible to make a support ticket????

I've already gone through that process you linked and that's the problem I'm having. When they ask for a verification code which they are supposed to send me through email, I never get the email.

What is your email provider ?

Do you have Vodafone for any of your service ?

We have to ask, but did you check the spam folder ? Make sure Support emails are not blacklisted in your email settings ?

I use hotmail.com, and I haven't blacklisted support in fact they are listed as a "safe sender", and yes I checked the junk folder. The strange thing is I still receive emails from steam about deals and offers like "An item on your Steam wishlist is on sale!"

Yes I use vodafone why is that relevant?

Yea, Hotmail has a history here of not getting emails from Steam. You can try to whitelist it, but for the longest time here, the usual suggestion is to use Gmail instead, as that one never seems to have issues.

Feel free to use the forum search for "hotmail" and you can see others with similar issues.

And, I don't have the link on my computer here, but I can get it off my other one but Vodafone has a security feature that I saw a user having an issue with a while back that was causing problelms very similar to what you have now.

I can try to find the link, or you can just check the settings in Vodafone. So that's two big possibilities right there that are suspect to your problem.

EDIT...Matter of fact, I remember specifically a user with Vodafone that was having email issues just as you seem to be.

Found them !

This is the user that details the setting I was talking about......

This is the user I remember with a very similar issue, and he never replied back if that was it or not, which may suggest it was.

I am having the same issue with my wife's account. Just formatted her laptop and reinstalled Steam. No verification email is sent to her Hotmail account. I've waited 8 hours.

Yeah, I've seen quite a few posts regarding this on Hotmail.

If it's urgent, I'd change the email provider to one that has issues less frequently.

So I'll give a short update. I remembered my password and I changed the email with that account to a gmail address. I had to do it through the steam client as through the website it asked me for verification through email, which I wasn't getting from steam! The funny thing is after I changed the email I started getting those verification emails at my OLD hotmail address. I'm baffled but I've gained control over my account again and that's what was important. Thanks for the help guys.
