But that hour spent doing that isn't going to make them money...
But now other playgrounds (like Epic games etc.) are actively developing and the loyalty of community is much more important than before. And better to spend hour, than lose potential buyers (like achievement hunters group).
Let's be brutal here, Steam has seen a substantial drop in quality of both services and games. It doesn't seem to be bucking the trend any time soon. How many other games have issues, not just achievement related?
I don't doubt that other services offered from other outfits are offering better goods. But remember that when they get bigger and take on more, the dip in quality inevitably comes too.
Look Here's the skivy.
You buy trash games, you get stuck with trash games. If you want to clear those cheevos so bad just use SAM. Valve really can't go applying blanket sweeps to like deleting all cheevos from a removed game (because games get removed in different ways and for different reasons). SOme people may want to keep their cheevos.
I personally feel this is a perfect bit of karma for the people who supported those trash games.
Supported ? What support.
People who truly supported these trash games probably got all the cheevos. Players (like most in this thread, I believed) got stuck by simply launching those trash games. Better than that, those games began with 20 achievements and at that time we certainly had no idea it was going to have 1000 ones.
What kind of karma is it ? A bad one.
No one complains about 'good karma'.
I haven’t been playing trash or high achievement count games since early Zup times, but it was disgusting to have these 6 games at their current condition (they all had 7-19 achievements and got new ones by mistake), and seeing so many people being stuck was really awful.
That’s why there is a fix for this issue. You don’t need SAM for it.

Wrong. Didn't pay a thing for them: all free!
Uninformed.
Games getting removed in different ways is exactly why we want Valve to fix this particular case. You see, the developer didn't publish the extra thousands of broken achievements. Valve did.
When Valve deleted the game, they also accidentally published all the unfinished achievements that weren't ready to be added yet. This is not a case of us owning a broken achievement spam game. This is a case of Valve adding thousands of broken achievements to the API by accident and then saying "Oh well, not our problem" instead of fixing their mistake.
