My point is mistakes happen and if you read the first few pages a bunch of us were telling him it was a bad thing he kinda laughed it off and well now there's a lot of people not to happy. My opinion is don't ever get too cocky because he's feeling the heat now and there's alot of people who basically got everything wiped.
Thanks
They're great... when they work. But all it takes is just one to fubar the server.
Lately it's tricky enough to stay stable with official updates as it is...
Most mods tend to be fine. When issue arise its also a non issue for smart server owners(or single players) because they simply revert once a fix comes up.
And as you well cited, no mods is no guarantee for even core updates to not fubar things. We've had that happen many times over the last 2+ years.
Having a no mod server is fine as there are of course some out there, but devs and most of the 26000+ unofficials support them (given that's where the main focus of the game is). Being dismissive of them otherwise is just a lil silly.
So really this is more about backing up saved games and being patient for fixes. Nothing more.
All your vanilla and s+ structures have various pull options at the top of the screen now, mainly the single item pull gun equivalent is on the top right 3rd of the screen, see the new little boxes all across the top? Thats them ..... this is probably explained in the new release of S+, better videos would be to watch one of several roleplayers on twitch since it seems all of them use S+ and castles mod now .... and somewhere in one of the streams one of them will use them or will answer questions (eventually) live in stream dependent on the amount of roleplay to be had at this moment
Heh. Patient users?
Seriously man. Really!?
Thanks for the grins :)
Edit: Silly.. maybe. But I/we work for a living. We can't hump the update logs to cater to modder update schedules. I don't see it as silly. I see it as stable :p
Plenty of very relaxed servers that use mods with folks that work and families and the like. Again, its not really a mod issue, its a user one in regards to just waiting half a day or a day typically until an issue is resolved by a decent modder.
But its your perrogative to not use them. Some servers dont. Most unofficials do and are fine with it and do not see any significant consternation with using them or feel they are a dire source of instability. Thus again being further dismissive of mod usage with your cited objections doesn't alter the original assessment concernng your view of them.
Ur very wordy..
You haven't posted your issue in the mod Workshop.
Start there.
I posted it in the bug report section last night
