I see no system specs, as in hardware, operating system, if the OS is 32 or 64 bit, as well as the exact computer model and model number or motherboard if custom built.
Post all that, please. There is a Hardware and OS forum here also.
EDIT...
You should also go into the Windows Event Viewer and see if there is more information on the error message. Errors to seriously consider as suspect are in red.
dont know why i didnt do that hahaha its a somewhat old computer but these games used to run before
OS name- Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.14393 build 14393
Os is x64 bit
system manufacturer-PowerSpec
Model-B638
Processor- intel Core i5-3450 CPU @ 3.1 Ghz 3101 mhz, 4 cores 4 logical pro
RAM - 8.00 GB
Total Virtual Memory 16.0 GB
This is the link I found for it. The operating systems there state Windows 8 and Windows 7.

So if this was an upgrade to Windows 10, the computer may not support that OS on that hardware, as in no drivers being available.
And, suspect to your BSOD issue. Not just any computer can run any OS. Drivers for the hardware in that computer must support the hardware to run that OS.
You click on "system board" and you get this......

Being an older board and system, I doubt it will run Windows 10. It makes no difference if it worked for a while but you are now having BSOD errors. An operating system may run on a computer where it is not supported for a while without issues, then one day an update to that OS or another issue may cause problems.
We have seen that a lot here, especially right after Microsoft was pushing their new Windows 10 on people by doing an "upgrade". Many were to post later saying they were having problems, and we saw that here.
I suggest you look for drivers on each manufacturer's website for Windows 10 to run on it, but they may not exist.
Steam is not causing your BSOD errors. It's an OS or driver issue, surely. EDIT...Or, perhaps hardware related directly.
Looks like it is in this family of EliteGroup boards....

See if you can find drivers for it on EliteGroup's official site.......

Intel HD 2500 graphics.
You are not going to be able to play intensive games on that.
Here is a google search for that model number board...

I don't see the exact one you have.
yo man you have been super helpful thank you. makes a lot of sense tbh. as its been running fine until the past 3 months. looks like im getting an upgrade :P
If you want to keep trying to figure it out, I would suggest finding the drivers and being sure they are all up to date.
Also, especially on older systems, many recommend to have the latest BIOS if running Windows 10. That should also be checked. It could just be a BIOS update that is needed. But honestly, with that GPU, the PC is not going to play very intensive games.
I would suggest an upgrade, yes. You can post here, and they can help on that also, if you wish.
