All my Steam files have moved to my desktop - what do I do?
Steam just updated, and in the process installed like 30 folders and shortcuts onto my desktop home screen. I cannot delete or move any of them, because for some reason Steam changed its default install location to Desktop. I don't know where it used to be, so I don't know how to move it back. I uninstalled and reinstalled Steam, and it just wanted to install in
C:\Users\users\Desktop. Is this where it's supposed to go, where it's always been? What do I do about the zillion folders, shortcuts and text logs covering my home screen? If I moved the entirety of all my Steam files, should I just create a new location? If so, where? In documents? Help!

In its own folder!
C:\Steam
Even better on its own partition.

Default location is C:\Program Files\Steam, although personally I would not recommend installing anything in there if you can help it since there are still de-intallers that will ♥♥♥♥ up everthing in the parent directory.
I uninstalled and reinstalled it again, this time it wanted to go back to its original folder, C:\Program Files\Steam, so I guess this issue is resolved. Glad it was that easy.
