Got one of these come through today myself, i dont think its linked to steam as it doesnt show up in my transactions list, so on that note while it says Valve, i think its masquerading and is actually something else. Was your bank able to get the funds back? I'm seeing my bank about it 2moro. Really weird.

Well thats interesting since i dont have any of those games. But it is linked to Steam? Doesnt show in my transaction record though

Hello. I noticed several of these against my account also. When I matched them up with the receipts, charges made to "valve Hamburg DE DEU" were for games I purchased as gifts.

Not the case for me as i barely purchase gifts. It IS however possible some of the fees are delayed, but even so (including the conversation rate) amounts dont add up for me. I've removed my credit card off steam and the rogue charges have now stopped. Still in the process of retrieving what was lost, if its possible, through my bank. I'd be weary storing credit card details, as i was being notified on my bank end, but nothing from steam transactions. It is possible someone had my card details also and was using them for steam games.

Removing the card from steam is the best starting point I think. Since the transactions have stopped, I think you nailed it.

As for my dealings with these transactions, I was able to verify my transactions in the bank against those gifts I purchased.

I see this topic is kind of old but i have the answer you are looking for! I recently had this as well after i looked at my purchase history in steam i see that the money that was charged on my credit card was simply me adding funds to my steam wallet. So whenever you add funds to your steam wallet im sure you will also see this appear in your statement aswell

I had a couple from the same name on my credit card. And i checked my purchase history and it was 2 games i had purchased over the last 2 months.

i've just seen on a few bank statements that i've got and they have been doing this for some time now and they used the name 'Valve hamburg DE' and they've spent nearly +£300 in a few months. I do hope someone can hack them to find out where they live or completely ruin them to the ground.
