Digital Gift Cards
Hello, I'm having an issue with Steam and there is no specific info about this in the faq

The page (http://store.steampowered.com/digitalgiftcards/selectgiftcard) says:

"Their digital gift card will be delivered into their Steam Wallet to use right away once your friend accepts their gift. That means your friend can purchase games, micro-transactions or items off of the Steam Community Market."

I got a 50usd one and now I found that I have a restricion to use the market. I would like some clarification from Steam about this issue, since they specifically state that the money should be available to use in the market right after accepting the gift.

Thanks for your time

New payment verification to use the market. Since the gift cards can't be verified like a credit card, you have to wait.

do you even know what Im talking about? the gift was paid and sent in steam with a verified credit card since he used that one before in his steam account. And my point is that they stated that the money would be usable in the market right after accepting and that was a lie, and they released this system less than a week ago so if they changed things they should have let us know and change the info in their article promoting it. I don't wanna be mean but this is a legal matter not subject to user opinions / speculations, does steam people ever reply in this forums?

The method of payment the sender used may have triggered the delay.

What is the exact message you are getting?

Nope. Forums are for users. Support will not respond and Valve rarely posts and even then, not for support issues.

The message says:

"The Market is unavailable for the following reason(s):
You have recently accepted a digital gift card from a friend"

Which contradicts the statement from the page promoting this new service.

If there are specific conditions that can alter those statements I think they should be added to that article, because as the previous user suggested, if it was triggered by the payment method of my friend then it would be nice to get a warning before paying at least, given that he was not going to get the promoted result. And btw, he used the same credit card he usess to buy his own stuff on steam, so it was not a new one or a new payment method not used before.

Restrictions like this are temporary. It's not like your pay type will never be used.

I don't think it was due to a new payment method, but due to it being a digital gift card as the message states.

I don't read a promise of being able to purchase from a specific area, just of funds being available.

You should still be able to use the store and in-game purchases.

If you go to the top you can read that I quoted that specific market part.

"Their digital gift card will be delivered into their Steam Wallet to use right away once your friend accepts their gift. That means your friend can purchase games, micro-transactions or items off of the Steam Community Market."

But anyway, thanks for your time. All I wanted was to contact someone from Valve to clarify this issue.
