Report a translation problem
It is frowned upon and considered very annoying.
"yeah me too" and "same problem" are examples of posts types that will get you that warning.
This was probably the post that was considered necro:

Last reply before yours was 18 October, that's one week ago. Your reply may not be relevant to the OP anymore.
Though, I only consider it a necro if it's to a topic more than a month old. Maybe the mods see it differently.
And my post was relevant to the thread
I was unaware that such thing was against the rules
If your post was anything of this nature:
Then it doesn't add anything of value to the topic.
Yeah, belatedly realized that.
As long as you contribute to the topic, it's not really a big deal.
"Usually", starting a new topic is better depending on the topic at hand.
For example, posting in an old thread about a 'no refunds' topic would be pointless, as now there are refunds on Steam, but not really all that long ago, there was a general "no refunds" policy.
So if things have changed since the topic was posted so long ago, necro'n it actually can be detrimental and may cause confusion, as that it does not apply to the current situation or rules or policies or whatever.
Am I in any sort of trouble
I heard that some people got banned for it

If yes, then the reason is because that thread is over four years old, with last post right before yours being over two years old.
There is no need to dig up a dead thread, it is advised that if people want to discuss the topic they'll have to create a new thread rather than dig up what would be the equivalent of a decomposed corpse.
Although I'll be honest I believe you received the warning cause your necro made the thread instantly derail to a different topic, namely people berating you for necroing this. I wouldn't say it's necessary all your responsibility, but as mentioned earlier by someone else, necroing threads is frowned upon.
What does the warning mean for me, am I in any form of trouble?
As of this I doubt you're in any trouble, worst case scenario was that warning itself since it was a humane mistake. I think the warning were more meant to give you a heads up about not to repeat the said action, rather than penalising you for an offense.
You can put that aside, it's merely an uproar I reckon.
I'll be sure not to comment on old threads in the future
