shadow of mordor not opening!!
so i'm 5 hours into playing shadow of mordor and was changing the in-game graphical setting for the game to see which one suited my computer best. the next time i tried to open the game, it only opened on my taskbar and will not open up to the full screen. the game plays on the window from the taskbar but it just refuses to maximise

so i have tried verifying the game files, troubleshooting, unistalling and reinstalling it and nothing seems to work. it is quite irritating! does anybody have any idea what i could do?

i can only assume you are trying to be funny right? because that's the same as uninstalling then reinstalling

Because it will put the game back on a default config, thus fixing your issue.

Sounds like it's using the onboard GPU. DId you plug in the monitor into another port? Or is it a laptop?

yeah i think that might be what is going on because i've noticed the graphical quality isnt up to what it should be. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks mate!

From the link the good Washell gave you, you can see the .cfg file's location.......

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\WB Games\Shadow of Mordor

Therefore, reinstalling the game will not fix that type of issue you have. Because uninstalling Steam games only removed the content from within the common folder where your games are installed under Steam.

It won't uninstall/remove upon uninstallation that .cfg file, so that same configuration is kept after you reinstall the game.

In the case of drivers for your system, never use the disk unless you need to in order to just get online (network controller drivers), then you go to the official website of the manufacturer and download and install the latest versions of drivers/software.

Not sure what disk you are speaking of, but my reply concerns drivers as well as Microsoft packages. Usually, the games and Windows install these for you, but there are cases where they may not.

so i did uninstall all the drivers, went on to the official website and installed the latest drivers directly from there. but i still have the problem with DirectX12. i can't seem to find out where to install it. i'm told it should be a simple process to install it from the microsoft website

the disk i'm referring to is the one that comes with the GPU in the box with it.
