Why does declining a trade lead to a 7 day ban?
I just declined a trade attempt to see that after I was clear from the 7 day steam guard restriction (which is in itself complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) and was rewarded with another 7 day trade ban for declining a trade? What is this? I can't decline a trade that I made myself? I feel like a hostage of this stupid and useless user-unfreindly system. How can I prove I'm not some demonic evil mastermind of a scam artist? It's utterly and completely not needed, useless, stupid... it's just down right ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Further off, I have the stupid 30 day market restriction, so I can't touch the marketplace either... thanks a lot Valve, great job...

It's not a "ban". It is a trading and market restriction.

Recently Cancelled An Accepted Trade

If you choose to cancel any of your accepted trades that are in a trade hold, your account will be restricted from trading for 7 days for your protection.

EDIT...

Talking about the recent purchase restriction ?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1047-edfm-2932#purchase

No Purchase Older Than 30 Days

Your account must have a successful purchase older than 30 days, but not older than a year in order to access the Community Market. The purchase of wallet funds, games, DLCs and software meet this requirement. Activating a Steam Wallet Code or Gift Card on your account to add funds to your Steam Wallet also meet this requirement. Retail CD key activation and gift purchases do not satisfy this requirement.

If not, less ranting and more details, please. What is the message when you try to use the market ?

Because you agreed to a trade and then broke the contract.

How is it protecting me? I read it, I know it, but it's so stupid. The entire system is so flawed. I just tried to check if I can trade a weapon in tf2 that is worth literally pennies. Why should I be penalized for doing so? I didn't even want the stupid "Mobile authenticator" on my phone, I don't care if I get scammed or lose my account, it's me, I typed in my password. Next thing I expect is a blood sample match if it's me, using my account.

Well, I didn't think that changing my mind was against the tos.

I encourage everyone that reads this, go look at my account, and tell me if I'm a scammer or just an average Joe. Hell, I haven't even chenged my account name, as far as I can remember. But nope, Steam decides that I'm the bad guy. Thanks a lot, really makes the experience feel... welcoming.

Feel free to use the forum search to see the countless therads explaining why the moble auth. was needed. Accounts being hijacked and items stolen is not only about you, but that can and does often affect other users, as well as the business of Valve.

No one is entitled to use the market, so they can place restrictions on it any way they can.

Back to that part about "bans" vs. "restrictions"...it is a privilege to use the market, and one that can be taken away even, in the case of an actual trade "ban" on an account.

No use in complaining, as this has been gone over and over here. Do you have the recent purchase restriction that I edited in the bottom of the post you just quoted above ?

Exactly that, I must have a purchase older than 30 days. Who came up with this? I can't even give away my money, again I have to wait.

77,000 account compromise tickets per MONTH, and that number was increasing. The friends list malware being one example, where a user clicking on a link affected many others, and Valve also.

I'm sorry if I sound infuriated, but I honestly am, I just want an "I don't care about my account" button here, so I can just slam it and go on with my life, not waste time with restrictions, because some jackass decided to be a scammer.

All trades are final, and you kinda screwed over the other person. It's not just about you.

As I said, that "button" if clicked, could affect many other users if you get hijacked.

Are you going to fix the issue of an account being hijacked to cheat with in VAC protected games ?

Are you going to repay the cost of all lost items on all of your friend's accounts if you clicked a malware link and they get spammed with the same malware ?

Are you going to repay the cost of the support employees that worked for thousands of hours on account compromises if that button was clicked by you ?

No, I think not. Again, it's not just about YOU. It's about everyone.

That's how discussions work. You say something, then we reply. Nobody said you would like these replies.

I expected some helpfulness, but nope, obviously ain't getting it. Just a big "♥♥♥♥ you for using our service". Really feeling that nice, warm user experience. I don't need any more comments or replies, thanks for nothing.
