You're finding this conversation annoying because you're having such a difficult time forming an actual coherent argument against, well, anything really. And I get it, you're here making arguments like you're a grade schooler who just discovered the internet for the first time, up against someone who very simply is pointing out the absurdity of your demands. Searching millions and millions of users by their current display name using only a name you know they once used years ago is as silly as typing someone's first name into Google and expecting Google to instantly give you their Facebook profile.

That is not what anyone is doing tho. I was searching a user by their current name, and search won't display their name, even tho I typed it exactly and correctly.
The example was provided: If you want to find a user named *Felix* and type it exactly like that, it will show you every single user named Felix instead. It's pretty clear as to what is the issue. The only silly thing here are your replies.

There are some even better examples of "code" that is subpar in the Steam client. Things that should have never been an issue to begin with but still haven't been fixed... Why would anyone ever think these guys could search a database properly?

I did a bit of coding decades ago and I can say with confidence that some areas of the client and correlating systems ♥♥♥♥ like the vacuum of space. A LOT of this stuff has been done so much better decades ago... yet Valve insists on reinventing the wheel. And making it a triangle...

Search is broken, and 6 years ago I was frustrated about it, because I could not add a person I wanted to add. The why and how don't matter.

The username, likely, isn't 100% accurate to what you're searching.

Congratulations, finally you see the issue I am describing. The example username I used is indeed 100% accurate and indeed not the first result to show up on search but gets mixed with 100000 similarly named results.

Of course the issue is less prevalent for less common names like mine. That much should be obvious. But it's still there
