Do I need to delete steam in order to use the Win10 version of Ark? I purchased both with the intent to play both...
So, I can launch Ark from my XBOX platform from my PC. This, however, opens the steam version. When I go to the XBOX store, it doesn't give me the option to download or install, because I already have it (through steam). It does give the option to "Play". Am I going to have to remove steam in order to launch the game through Win...

Play both? In what way?

Did you buy it for xbox and on Steam? Or did you buy it for PC on windows store and on Steam?

The xbox app is a weird thing, it tries to scan your PC for games. What are you trying to do with the xbox app?

The place where you buy games via microsoft for PC is on the windows store, not the xbox app. Check there for buying info and that stuff.

Stick to Steam if you don't have other needs.

Well, upon purchasing the limited edition (guess I should have included that in my description), you get a XBOX and PC copy. On my laptop, I have a client (like steam) that launches, downloads, etc... I want to be able to play my steam version of Ark, and be able to play the cross platform Win10 version of Ark with the same PC. When I try to download or launch Ark through Windows Store, it says I own it, and uses Steam to launch. Thus, using the Steam version, not the WIN10 version. My head already hurts, and it just release lol

I would guess you need to install the game twice, one with steam and one with windows store. Play one at a time.
Ask on the ark forums for more details.

Maybe the windows store version is the best one since it can cross play? Maybe just use that one?

Maybe if you try uninstalling the game on Steam and then try installing the game though Xbox.

You raelly want to play both, this may help you.
First,Finding your SteamLibrary folder and backing up your Ark folder to other place.your gamesaves also need back up(If it is Supported, you can open your Steam Coulds which can help you to save your game data).
And then , you can uninstall your Ark from Steam, and you can install it from Win10 Store(may be should restart a time).
If it is working, then you can move all your backup to where they come from. Steam could identify it automatic(Maybe you should use your steam to check an integrity)
Enjoy

From what I am reading, the PC version (Windows 10 and Steam) should both be cross platform....at least at some point, if not already. The only one that isn't would be the PS4.

Unfortunetly I can't confirm as I do not own an Xbox.
