Slow internet speed.
I have a 200 Mbps connection (I just did multiple speed tests and I am indeed getting 200 Mbps) but I often only get 3 - 10 MBps. With a 200 Mbps connection I should be getting 30MBps. Of course, it's not correct to assume that I should be getting that 100% of the time, but I should be going over 10 MBps 100% of the time.

You do realize that in your OP above, you use both "MB" per second as well as "Mb" per second, right ?

There is a difference, if you are not aware.

So are you talking about Steam downloads, and not just slow internet speeds ?

What is the exact problem you have, please ?

If it is slow game downloads, is this with all games on Steam or just one or two ?

Have you tried changing download regions yet, to many different places ?

Yes, I am aware that there is a difference between "MB" and "Mb", that is why I typed them to be different.

It's only with Steam, every other download service/speed test that can support my speed goes my full speed (or very close to it).

My exact problem is that games I download from steam are not going my full internet speed.

This happens with all downloads from Steam.

I have tried changing regions with no luck.

All of my drivers are fully up to date.

So how many different regions did you try ?

Did you try some very far away from you also ?

Are you using a router or wireless connection to troubleshoot this with ? If you are, bypass all that with ethernet directly to the modem first.

Then boot the computer into safe mode with networking to further troubleshoot the problem.

Post the link to the official manufacturer's website where you would have downloaded the device drivers from, please. This will show the model number and model of computer/motherboard that you have there, as well as the full operating system.

I'm on wireless, right next to the router. I don't have an ethernet cable.

If you're on wireless that immeciately makes it more likely your issue is with the wifi limiting you

Steam has the ability to obliterate even gigabit connections

Also note that you shoudl refer to Resource Monitor as downloads are not purely about bandwidth. Many times users are disk limited when downloading, this is not apparent in speed tests because teh disk is not utilized. When downloading games, steam uses CPU and disk to decompress and recombine your download. I suspect that your downloads are being capped due to your slow hard drive crawling to recombinee the data files

Since you're probably on a laptop, you're likley to be very much disk or cpu limited in downloads

But my hard drive is 7200RPM, and my CPU is an i5-6500. That should be enough.

I also use to get high speeds but now I barely get them (if at all).

I see you did not answer one of my requests above, concerning the drivers link. And 2 - 3 download regions is not nearly enough to test this with, to exclude that as possibile fixes to the problem.

However, as the good Satoru said, your wireless connection there is a question mark, and using process of elimination, should be bypassed.

Did you not read the support page that was linked ?

2. Test Your Router

The Using a Router with Steam topic includes steps to isolate problems if they occur at the router.

Wireless and powerline connections can cause intermittent failures due to interference. If possible, test Steam with a direct wired connection to determine if this is a problem. An Internet speed test may also help you identify problems related to local link quality.

I can see you said you don't have a cable, but you should never troubleshoot connectivity issues with using a wireless connection. Even if you can use the rest of the internet fine. There can be a security issue involved, and therefore Steam may be the only conflict instead of the rest of the net.

Process of elimination. Eliminate the router and wireless connection. Then try more regions if that does not help.

I used to work for a cable/internet provider and that was a common complaint. Do you know what speeds your wireless connection can handle? I know you mentioned other things downloaded at normal speeds, those are also on the same device?

Like I said in my post, my speeds can handle 200mbps/30MBps. It is all on the same device.

That's all possibly irrelevant, even if you can get those speeds everywhere except on Steam, if the wireless connection is the issue.

Feel free to use the forum search and see for yourself. Many have come and posted exactly what you are posint now. Can use everything fine, just not Steam. And eventually, we helped them solve their problem...or most of them surely.

But you don't seem to want to follow requests or suggestions, with all due respect. You totally ignored my posts and request(s) yet again, for example.

And when you did reply to my post above, you said nothing about the safe boot suggestion I mentioned there.
