PUBG Refund
Hey, I bought Playerunknown's Battlegrounds a few days ago and when I played it I kept getting this texture bug. So I am at the point where I want to refund the game. The thing is, I spent about 4 hours joining games, messing with the setting and so on trying to fix the bug. So now the only thing I can do is refund the game. But on steams refund page it says that you have had to play less than two hours if you want to refund the game.

Did I read this wrong or is there some other way to get it refunded? Maybe I could message the steam support and try to explain the situation? I have not had the game for more than 14 days, I've only had it for about 3 or 4 days.

Any answers that may help me are appreciated.

Nope that is correct. To get a refund you are only allowed to have played the game for a maximum of 2 hours and the purchase may not not be older then 14 days ago.
BOTH requirements must be fullfilled to get a refund.
You can still ask for a refund but the chance is high that Steam will refuse the request.

That's weird that you're getting bugs, maybe it could be your graphic's card? Since it can't handle all the textures maybe? Hopefully you get your refund on this game though and all works well with you man.

Refunds are granted for games played less than 2 hours AND purchased within the past 14 days

On the positive side this could still be fixable or patchable. Maybe your PC is the problem here.
The game will always be there for you if you get a machine that can run it.

What is the "texture bug" anyway?

You can contact their support and they might be able to help you: https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameTechnicalIssue?appid=578080

not max. you can get a refund for 4 hours. just explain the situation calmly, and at most make 3 refund requests, let other people review it. it's a valid reason to refund, because the texture bug makes the game unplayable.

Sooo...in other words, you played the game for 4 hours.

That is over the 2 hour limit. You don't qualify for a request but you can ask. If you ask and they say no, that is the answer.

Lots of things that isn't supposed to happen can happen, doesn't mean it should be a reasonable expectation. The rules are there for a reason, asking more than once could make it worse.

He is also playing the game right now...

Its 2 HOURS and 14 DAYS. Read the policy. Only then you guranteed a refund. Everything after that is by the discretion of VALVE.
Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within fourteen days of purchase, and the title has been played for less than two hours.

And hundred of thousands of people are playing PUGB just fine right this moment. That will further lower his chances for a refund.

"texture bug" is a bug that affects nearly everyone with less than 16 gb ram (game says it only requires 8 gb), it makes it so that textures and the structures of things don't load for 1 minute or so after you land on the field (and matches are pretty quick of pubg) it doesn't just not load textures, you literally see through buildings, can walk through them, shoot ppl through them, etc. it's game breaking to say the least... there's a huge discussion about it on their forums but they ain't fixed it yet.

OP, if they deny the request, the next and correct course of action should be posting in the game forum for help to get the game working right on your rig. This is, of course, if you meet the minimum requirements of the game.

If the game will not launch from your library, you can ask here for help, but so far it sounds like a game fourm issue, if the request is denied.

Was playing the game to get screenshots of the texture bug for my refund request and this thread.

EDIT: I ran a system requirement test (https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/battlegrounds/15571) and got a check on the minimum requirements.

Here are some of my pc specs and I am pretty sure that I my system qualifies for PUBG.

Just ask for a refund and see what they say. Don't play it anymore while waiting on the answer, of course. That could possibly make it even less likely you will get approved.

So it looks like that for a while and then it goes away? Sure, it will make it more challenging.
Still, it's in early access and this could be fixed later.

Best case they will fix this and you will be playing soon with the rest soon.
Worst case they will make the system requirements higher and you'll play on some future PC.

Early access, know what you are getting into. Same with refunds. It's a 30 USD mistake, it happens. Makes you more careful the next time.

Thank you for all the answers and replies, I just sent in a refund request trying to explain the situation as best as possible. Hopefully it goes well. If anyone has any other ideas or tips I could use I'd really appreciate it.

If they say no again then don't send a new one.
