Some games in my library wont start! PLEASE HELP
I just got a new gaming PC and downloaded a few games on Steam. Two games start and run perfectly fine (The Witcher 3 and Doom) the others such as PUBG, Path of Exile and TF:steamsad:2 does not start. To go into further detail when I double click the game it says "Running" and on my status bar it shows that I am currently playing the game. Some things that I already tried were reinstalliing steam, re-installing the game, updated my drivers, checked file integrity and went through many youtube videos and forums to get help. I'd also like to note that the games in my Origin library work fine.

I want to expand my game library, but I'm hesitant because I feel like a lot of games will not start. I will appreciate any help. I am willing to try just about anything to get my games to work.

I see I see.... although I'm pretty confident that the GTX 1080 is being utilized already. Oh and I checked the link and don't quite understand how they did this....

"I've seen this happen before, and it is usually because something with the DirectX install went bad. There was a thread about this quite a while ago where we tracked down the appropriate CAB file, then extracted the dlls into their proper location. It seemed to have fixed it.

You might be able to just track that thread down yourself and try it, or locate the dlls yourself and put them in the right place (32-bit in the 32-bit locations, and 64-bit in the 64-bit locations).

Should fix the issue."

I think you have a runtime issue, and that is your problem, also seen in the errors that you posted images of. The games are launching and 'running' but not graphically, as you have described so far.

After checking that out it looks like I have DirectX 12 which is the one that is accompanied with Windows 10

I see. Then I think the focus should be on your C++ runtime packages, as in the redistx86 and x64 error message windows you posted images of. That is where the issue seems to be. The games are launching and 'running', according to what you said, but they are not doing so graphically.

How about TF2 ? Have you tried that one yet, to see if there is an error we can use as helpful information ?

Are PUBG and TF2 and Path of Exile the only games you have issues with, out of the games you currently have installed ?

have you checked the task manager yet? be sure to close the game on task manager, then reopen it again. It may works.

If you have your HDMI cable connected to your GTX 1080 then your pc is using your dedicated graphics card.

Also not sure if the giving one will agree but try to update your bios. It's only necessary if you have hardware problems but there is nothing awrong with having updated bios. It might help it might not. Gigabyte has a tool that will let you install your bios through windows to make it easier. Just don't turn off the power while doing that.
Here is the download section for your exact motherboard that other site that you posted seemed fishy to me as i also got a gigabyte motherboard. There was new bios that was update 4 days ago and it fixes the CPU micro code to fix HT flaw issue. As you can see in the link below the site you was on and this site are way different.

I have tried TF2 and there is a DirectX file but nothing that contains redistx86 or x64

Yes PUBG, TF2 and Path of Exile are the only games I'm having issues with. DOTA 2, The Witcher 3 and Doom start and run perfectly fine. And yes I do get the same problems with TF2 like the other games.

Interesting. Then it sounds like the redistributables for those games are not being installed for some reason. Use the game forum also and enter into the search box the exact error code/message. Then see if what others did in this case can maybe help you also.

You can right click games in your library and select "view forum" to get there. I am just suggesting a search to see if you can find a resolution to this issue. You are in the right forum here now to actually get help on fixing the issues of the games not launching.

You are not using shortcuts right ? I saw some shortcuts on your desktop in your shots. Don't use those while trying to troubleshoot this problem.

Are you referring to the error I screenshotted earlier? Because other than that I havent been getting any error codes.

Im not using any shortcuts to launch the game. Been starting them up straight from Steam.
Sorry to had butt in on page 3 i'll see my way out.

Thanks for your input earlier. I did download the update from that link, but it's just a file on my computer. Do I do anything with it after that? Oh and I do have an HDMI cable plugged into my graphics card.
