Post the exact computer you have, model and model number or motherboard, please.
Also, what is your antivirus program ?
Thanks for replying! I bought a prebuilt CyberPowerPC from Bestbuy. Model: PVP3020LQ. The motherboard model is GA-Z270-HD3P. I only use the Windows defender atm. I have used TrendMicro but I deleted it hoping it would solve the problem. When updating my drivers I went to the Device Manager and went through every single thing on that menu and checked for updates.
ill also post this link to my PC for any other information http://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-panzer-desktop-intel-core-i7-7700k-32gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-2tb-hdd-240gb-ssd-white/5715449.p?skuId=5715449
I see some new drivers for that board here. Verify this is the right one, and that all device drivers are fully up to date.

Cyberpower prebuilts can be notorious for having bloatware and/or problematic software for Steam, and TrendMicro did once or does now still cause issues with Steam and/or games. It was once listed here.......

However, there can be other processes that cause this, or leftover childs of TrendMicro that you maybe missed uninstalling the parent.
Do the following, please..........
1. Take screenshots of all of the programs you have installed on your computer. Control panel then programs/programs and features. (Windows 7,8,8.1) or "apps" (Windows 10 click "Start" (Windows icon on bottom left))
2. Click Windows Start and type in msconfig and run that resulting process. Go to the services tab and check the box on bottom "Hide all Microsoft services". Take screenshots of all that is left.
3. Then go to the startup tab on top of that same window (Task Manager in W10). Take screenshots of all that there also.
Post all the links to the above screenshots here, using a file hosting site such as imgur.com

ASUS should also have a utility that will check for you and install the latest drivers, if you are not sure. I stress this step, as it is a new computer, and new computers often need much updating.
Are you sure also that Windows is fully up to date ? This is Windows 10 64 bit, correct ?
Discord - "May" cause issues. Leave it for now but keep it in mind.
In the Task Manager, I just wanted to see the "process" running, not the details tab you have selected, please.
You need to closely consider any "updater" and "manager" and "service" processes. Some are vital, but some just consume resources needlessly, and may conflict with Steam/games.
Once conflicts are resolved, if any, you have to verify the game files for all games affected BEFORE you playtest those games.

Your processes list show ASUS processes. But you referred me to a Gigabyte board in your post above. There seems to be some confusion or a mistake.
Sorry, here are the processes: http://imgur.com/a/hCatK
The motherboard is definitely a Gigabyte. Im looking into my PC and the model name that I gave you is on it. Not to mention they also gave me a user's manual for the motherboard.
I believe you, and am sure you know what computer you have, but it is strange to me how there are ASUS processes on a Gigabyte system. Very strange.
I will look at the bestbuy link further, though. I stress again about the drivers and then verifying the game files for the games you have problems with . Also, make sure Windows itself is fully up to date. Run Windows update now if you have not.
Then, we can continue as needed. The games and Steam are not the problem. The problem is on the computer that causes the problem with Steam/games.
That does help. Ignore my point about ASUS vs. Gigabyte then. Sorry about that.
Windows is now up to date. I also verified all the files for the games I was having problems with and nothing was wrong with any of them.
Gigabyte Motherboard drivers up to date according to this http://imgur.com/a/3FZol
I also thought it did not look very legit but I found it here http://www.gigabyte.us/Support then I went to download center tool.
Now, you seem to have covered alot and I personally don't see an issue as of now, as far as drivers and conflicting software. Of course, there may be something I have missed.
So try to play one of the games that you were having issues with, but only by clicking "play" in your Steam library, in case you were using shortcuts before. Thanks.
If there is a problem, describe what you see happening, if different from that in the opening post.
I pressed play on the games that were having problems and its the same problem (wont start). Unfortunately, it seems that I am that 1% of people that have no solutions to the problem.
Is it the same exactly as you said in the OP ? The game shows as running but does not actually launch ?
Go to one of the game's folders. Open that up and find any folder containing the redist packages for the game. Steam is supposed to install these for you, but sometimes there is an issue and installing them manually helps.
Should be redist x64 and redist x 86 or similar. Run them both if you see them.
