Broken phone? Account help!
Basically today I broke my phone by falling off my bike. The screen was definitely broken but a light was still there. I powered it off and now it worn turn back on again. I logged in with my Apple ID on my iPad and made sure that I downloaded steam guard and had the same
phone number as my phone. Weirdly enough none of my iMessages seem to have updated since 10 months ago....?
Anyway I tried to log in on the steam guard that I downloaded and I tried selecting the option where I remove steam guard from my phone and add it to my IPad at the same time. In order to do this I need a code that got sent to my phone number. I don't seem to be getting the code on my iPad even though the number is the same? Btw this is my only option since I do not have the recovery code and steam support takes forever to reply. I'm connected to wifi and I have no idea why it doesn't work. I can add more detail if needs be! Thanks!
-The issue is on my main account btw.

Email confirmation?

Iirc the code is given to you when you first activate steam guard and you are asked to keep it safe.

If you do not have that, you will likely need to contact steam support and wait a while.

This; if you do not backup those recovery codes for when getting locked out, thats all on you.

then login via steam client and choose option that steam authenticator is no longer available/accessible?

this is what i did on my alternate account with 0 purchase. idk though if steam is more strict with accounts with history of using paypal or debit/credit cards.

you can not remove steam guard authenticator from web. it can only be removed from mobile device, from which it was activated. or Using the RECOVERY code.

because in that case the whole idea of Mobile Authenticator becomes useless, if anyone can remove it via web.

Well people are screwing themselves by not backing up their recovery codes; those are mast Steam Guard codes, deemed for use with your account as a master key to get back in should this type of situation arise. Also you are given a whole list of codes, and you have to remember what you used and then remove them from your master list once one or more are used.

i just accessed steam via web (mozilla firefox).

i have the option of using:
'code from mobile authernticator)
-or-
'please help. i no longer have access to my mobile authenticator codes'

added:
steam client has the option of removing mobile authenticator.

steam client >> settings >> manage steam guard security >>

yes ...., you can access steam via web. but you can't remove mobile authenticator via web alone. if you click on ''remove authenticator'' it will ask for the mobile codes/ Recovery codes. So if you don't have access to your mobile phone / Recovery codes, then you can't remove it.

Refer to the I lost my Authenticator section

You will need either your Rcode which you were supposed to write down, or you can remove the Authenticator via an SMS code
