Why mouse sensitivity differs from different Windows OS??
The mouse sensitivity on Windows 7 64 bit feels rather clumsy when compared to Windows XP. One of the main reason why I keep two OSes and prefer to play classy old games like Quake on XP.

It all depends on your system settings.

Well, there are some settings in your Control Panel to adjust your mouse sensitivity. If you go to your control panel you can find your mouse settings to adjust that.
Your post contradicts itself, so I'll respond to both contradictions.

Well, they are set completely the same.
Then you have no problem.

The mouse sensitivity still feels completely different.
Then they are not set completely the same and you need to adjust them until they feel the same.

Just adjust them to your liking.

The mouse sensitivity still feels completely different.
Should be handled by your mouse driver control panel, these days mice have up to 1000hz refresh, xp days mice were indeed clunky

For me it's completely the opposite. Any other factors that cause this?

User failing to adjust the settings to their liking, by the sound of it.

all of the settings are set the same in both OS and games, like screenshop provides.

If you did indeed set them both to where you like them and they now both feel about the same as you wanted, what was post #8 about?

Sorry it's hard to tell if you actually resolved your issue as directed or if you're just refusing to adjust them to your liking. Your last update (the one you deleted and then re-posted) contradicted itself and you never clarified your contradiction.

I can't imagine why you'd make this thread if you're unwilling to resolve the issue when told exactly how to do it though, so I assume by this point you adjusted the settings so they both feel the same like you wanted. Right?

Where did I said that they both feel about the same? Like I said, they feel different, even though I set them exactly the same, but mouse sensitivity on XP still feels better.

Nothing of is contradicted really, you're making some random assumptions out of nowhere. Please re-read the thread again. I want the mouse sensitivity be EXACTLY like it is on XP, yet setting mouse controls exactly the same on 7 just like on XP doesn't provide such effect.

I did remove and repost the message because I needed to correct images. Although I did now notice your double posting now that I seems missed before and no, I do not contradict myself and say things exactly how they are, and that's the main issue and reason why I even made this thread - on BOTH os they are SET exactly the same (on control panel and in game), BUT feels differently. Adjusting them manually "to my liking" would be futile work that never will be achieved because it would just never feel the right, unless it will feel EXACTLY like it does on XP. I wonder if some other aspect matter to mouse sensitivity as well.

Either they ARE the same or they are not. We're not dealing with schrodinger's mouse settings here.
Messaggio originale di Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer:

Set so they feel the same means they don't feel different. You can't have something that feels different and also the same. That's a contradiction. I've already mentioned this twice now.

Messaggio originale di Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer:
Like I said, they feel different,
Ok so aside from the fact that you clearly don't want to fix this by simply adjusting the settings like you've been instructed several times, what stops you from just simply correcting this issue by adjusting the settings like you have been instructed to do so on several occasions? And so help me you had better not go back to saying it's the same but different again. Either fix the issue by adjusting the settings so they feel the same or don't. I don't care if you do or do not.

But stop jerking people around with something so trivial.

Look, here, have a flowchart. Maybe that will help.

Turn off the enhanced pointer precision underneath the sensitivity rating. With that rating (already) set to 6/11, and EPP off, every movement of the mouse should be translated on a 1 to 1 ratio to windows, making them identical.

I have same problem... The mose settings just didn't felt right on Windows 7-10, that's why I have another PC with XP when I want to play competitively. Yes, XP users still widely exist around world.
