Stuck at 60hz with 144hz Monitor!! Please help!:(
My monitor: ACER Predator GN246HLBbi

My monitor is stuck at 60hz no matter what I do. There is no option on the OSD to change it from 60hz > 144hz. Im using a HDMI to DisplayPort, as my PC only has DisplayPorts and HDMI (I;ve tried both). Ive tried changing the settings within Nvidia Panel and also the windows monito settings but there is no option for the 144hz Refresh Rate, it only goes up to 60hz on both.

Can someone please help me!

My setup:
CPU: i7 7740x @ 4.3
GPU: 1080ti (DP is connected to my GPU not motherboard)
Motherboard: Gigabyte X299 AORUS Gaming 3: ATX, USB 3.1, SATA 6 GB/s

Only HDMI 1.4b+ would support that sort of refresh rate. What rating is your HDMI cable?

Ah my HDMI is 1.3! So if I buy a HDMI 1.4b, it should work? Also, will HDMI>HDMI work? Or should I get HDMI1.4b>Display Port?

Edit: Also thanks for the quick reply :*

That card should have a display port on it that can go to the monitor directly. I suggest using that if you can.

My monitor doesn't have a DP, only a HDMI. So If I get a HDMI1.4b To display port, i should get 144hz?

Why are you trying to do HDMI to anything?

The card should have both an HDMI and Display Ports on it. Either will work with the monitor. If you want the 144mhz, then use then 1.4b HDMI cable. There is not need to convert anything to anything else.

That monitory are you using?

Yeah i'm just saying my Monitor hasn't got a Display Port, only HDMI. So i guess i'll just use HDMI 1.4b and everything should be A-ok hopefully!
