Tiny lag spikes on any steam game (High-End PC)

Hello all,

I've recently gotten my new computer (desktop), but I am having some issues with steam games. I am getting small stutters/lag spikes every 30 seconds or so (just for less than a split second but it is still annoying). It doesn't matter which game I throw at it: GTA5 has this issue (although it runs fine besides the lag spikes) but also games that should be easy to run such as Black Ops II have this issue.

The only game that I play that doesn't seem to have the problem is Overwatch. It is also my only game that I haven't bought on steam. So I pretty much only have this problem on my steam games.

I have tried so many things in the last few days. I deleted all my games and steam and redownloaded all of them (around 300GB). I tried to change some settings in the windows gaming tab. I updated my Nvidia GeForce Experience Drivers (I even got rid of it using DDU and reinstalled an older version of the driver). But nothing seemed to work unfortunately...

For those who are wondering about my PC stats, these are them:
- Intel Core i5-7500 (3.4 GHz)
- 8GB RAM Corsair Vengeance
- MSI GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB)
- 120 GB SSD, 2TB HDD
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
*I can also give you information about my motherboard/monitor etc, but I didn't think that was necessary

I hope you can help me to resolve this problem, it's very frustrating.

Try using a program like MSI Afterburner to overlay and record performance data while you're playing a game that has the issue. Have it display everything possible. CPU Load, GPU memory, GPU Frametime, GPU temp...all the data. See if it gives you any hints.

Also keep an eye on your disk usage to see if that's the cause. You could also try a clean boot. I also use both SSD (Sandisk) and HDD (Seagate) for Steam, and I don't have problems with Bitdefender AV Plus 2017.

I recently updated to bitdefender 2018 because the 2017 version was blocking one game

I downloaded MSI Afterburner but I didn't see anything weird besides the CPU usage was sometimes very high for a second. But that is probably because of the boot-up of the game.

Check your running processes and services. Your answer is probably there.

I got same problem like this too but the diffrent is i got Stuttering and drop fps when i Update my driver when trying to fix Team fortress 2 insecured, i already try to reinstalled my Nvidia Geforce and gtx 1650ti but none of them work.

I am having this issue too. All of my steam games are practically unplayable while battle .net and other platforms work just fine. Please help!
