Skin mods are not working for Left 4 Dead 2

I have Left 4 dead 2 on Steam that I like to play with workshop mods, I have no mods that are not from the workshop for this game. Whenever I play the game, a lot of my mods dont work that have to do with reskins. One example of this is the Shrek Tank mod which turns the tank into Shrek. I can still here the music and sounds it makes for the skin, but the actual skin itself doesn't work and only shows the default Tank. The same thing happens with the other mods that are reskins. Please help.

If they are not working you can always use them from http://www.gamemaps.com/l4d2/
All you have to do is downlaod them and add them to your steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead 2/Left4dead2/addons.

I don't use the workshop items since they have problems when I use alot of them.

You all so have to watch out that they are not conflicting with each other, might be the problem.

yeah, I do know how to mod games without the steam workshop, I use to mod the hell out of star wars battlefront 2. But the workshop is really useful for left 4 dead 2 since its easier to access and an easier method rather than dropping the files into the game files. How do I delete all my mods for left 4 dead 2? Because I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but that doesn't work, and I went into the game files and I thought I deleted the game files, I unsubscribed to some mods and resubscribed but that didn't change how the mods functioned.

You should only have to uncheck subscribe on the workshop item, if that dosen't work I guess you could always go to steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead 2/Left4dead2/addons and delete what's in your "workshop" folder, after you unsub from the items you want (and there is a pic that goes with the sub'd item so you know what you are deleting).

But the workshop has always had problems when unsubing from stuff, it's far from perfect but it works.

And when you uninstall did you delete the game folder inside of stea? Some people forget this as some files can still stay.

how has noone ever had an issue with skin mods not showing up in game for left 4 dead 1 i need help please its doing it for me and for left 4 dead 2 its fine no skin mod issues its onl left 4 dead 1 can someone PLEASE HELP ME what do i have to do to fix this probblem ?
