Non-Steam Game Screenshots not showing up in Activity Feed
Has anyone noticed that Screenshots from Non-Steam Games don't show up in the Friend Activity Feed anymore? this is really irritating that I can't share my experiences with Standalone versions of Steam Games, AKA Warframe anymore, the Screenshots still upload but they don't show up in the feed, completely defeating the purpose of taking screenshots. :fsad:

I haven't been able to upload anything since December, and Steam won't even respond to a help ticket on it.

If this is intended and they want to have the best gaming community out there, they are taking steps to fail miserably.

If this is intended it should at least be announced somewhere so the userbase knows.

I highly doubt this was done on purpose. Screens can still be uploaded and display on screenshot page, I would imagine they would have removed the entire feature and placed something in patch notes. I uploaded Overwatch screens on Jan 1st and nothing since following tues. weekly patch, also not 1 screen from anyone on friends list of non steam game since that patch which shows its not isolated to certain accounts. If it had to do with "adult" content being posted I would think they would take a different approach seeing as you can post that content anywhere on Steam if they desired, artwork, workshop, screens, even profile pic. This sucks waiting for it, but I think they will have it fixed in time.

I dont think its intended since how many years has it been with adding non steam games and be able to upload shots from them? If they didnt wanted that then they would have fixed it by now. Most likely they missed something in the code when they did the maintenance thats causing this bug/error.

There are moderators that ban such things once they see them, not to mention that each game developer registered can remove shots, artwork from that game's feed if they break rules.

Alright something new came up for me

So like two weeks ago I tweaked my activity settings to not show me 95% of things, including screenshot

And apparently it only just took effect for some reason

I changed it back and everything works fine now for me at least

Discard this I was talking about something different

I can see my other screenshots like Shantae and such, I only don't see the non-Steam screenshots I've taken.

So, you can see non-Steam screenshots in your activity feed now?

Note: This method does not work with all games..print screen button and putting into art also works..

Most of us know of this method, it's just a pain in the arse.
I honestly would go to the effort of taking screenshots in a dead game and replacing the files with the non-steam game screenshots, but I can't be bothered to navigate folders and whatnot to do it, lately, just been hitting share on the more noteable screenshots I want people to see.

I sincerely hope an Admin has seen this thread by now, it has more replies than I was expecting and it keeps getting bumped, so fingers crossed.

You can do that just fine if you disable Origin's in-game overlay, exit Origin and add the game's executable as a non-Steam -game; or you add the game's browser protocol as Origin's launch argument on Steam.

See,

Lots of threads on the know how though.

Well, you can really upload anything. Like PS4 screenshots,

Use the same method, hit print screen in a game, quickly go to GIMP or Paint or what have you, hit paste, crop it out and save over an un-uploaded steam screenshot from a dead game and viola, you've uploaded a screenshot from a game you haven't linked to steam, it'll just be under a different game title.

And if you want quick access to that un-uploaded screenshot, open the screenshot library for that game and double click the image and it opens the file location.
