Getting no sound from game when i play with my headphones, goes out to speaker instead.
So all I want is my audio to be in my ears when I play games, but I get nothing.
I was fiddling around because I wanted to get my OBS to work.
I'm geting sound from playing music and youtube videos, but no game sound.
Somebody please please please help me !!!
I just wanted to record this radroach inside a garbage bin chasing me around the block cuz it looks really flippin funny but ♥♥♥♥ out of luck cuz I can't enjoy hearing what the eff is going on with the game.
I can hear youtube videos, I can other things, but not my gameplay.

All audio is trying to go to my speakers instead and I DO NOT WANT THAT. I want it all in my speakers.
Keep in mind I use a headset with a mic I use to talk and chat to stream and record games this way.
They are razer krakens if that helps

Now there is no speaker sound.................................
It's always best to close a game before changing the output. Some games don't like it when you change from speaker to headphones while they are running, especially if you are using USB headphones and headphones which are using you soundcard.
Always configure audio before launching games; do not try to change Windows Playback/Recording settings while a game is running.

Also check the Mixer when something is running, like a game, and ensure that in particular is not muted.

If the Headset is Analog and you are using Front I/O on your Case, you may need to first set those to be Defaults if you wish to use it.

If you use USB Headset, this does not use your Sound Card/Onboard Audio at all; these are it's own device with its own Driver; again they must be set to default for Speakers/Mic.
OBS AUDIO ISSUES- Hear zero audio gameplay from my stream and recordings, uses headset mic to record and stream. Can still hear myself, but not the game play.
I'm getting no sound (OR BARLEY ANYTHING, SOUNDS LIKE A SOMEBODY DROPPED A TACK BUT LIKE HALF THE SOUND, LIKE NOTHING) of my game when streaming and recording on obs.
I have the most recent version before December 24th, 2016 of OBS.
I just went through all my audio and got my speakers working and got my headset working.

I'm somebody who uses a headset to use my mic to chat and to hear my game play with. My headset is my default device to talk and to hear things come in and out.

Right now all I can hear is me talking in my recordings, but little or zero sound of the game play on the recordings.

Need some major help here !!!

In OBS, you need to turn the Mic way down; while having the Master Volume at 100%; otherwise the Mic will be way over-powering in the Recording/Streaming.

While OBS and Game are running; double check the Windows Mixer as well.
[SOLVED] I had this problem also. I exited the game, plugged the headphones out then back in. Made sure sound was working, started game, good to go. I read somewhere games don't like new sound outputs while they're running sometimes. Better to add the usb headphones before running the game.
It shouldnt do that with 3.5mm devices though. If so, disable the port detect and notify in the audio software.

But yes games don't like when u hotplug stuff cause the game needed to be restarted to see any changes, such as usb audio or game controller
left click on the little sound icon in the lower right hand side of your screen and hit the ^ carat and select playback device, select headphones from the drop-down list. You should be good to go!
rip Also to the person above me this is years old LMAO

did you ever get this figured out? My friend is having trouble with in game volume as well
My headphones are sony blue tooth so they are wireless but I do have a cord that I can use if the battery is dead in them I can also charge them but when I use the cord and attach it to my laptop the sound should automatically go to the headphones but it doesn't when I play mortal kombat 1 but it will with mortal kombat xl and mortal kombat 11 ultimate maybe my laptop doesn't like mortal kombat 1
Because it's not automatic like on a phone or tablet, you need to switch to it or set it as the default and you must do that before you launch a game. WinOS has always been that way. If the wireless headset or earbuds allows using and charging at the same time, then charge them off the wall charger or via a power bank
