Steam game downloading... too fast?

Alright this one is weird. I just bought Screeps and I'm downloading it. Once it hits 60MB, it suddenly gets a burst of download, "finishing" the download. But it isnt done at all, and just stops downloading data. If I pause and restart the download, it goes back to around 60, give or take a few tenths of a mb. Help? Anyone? I already tried clearing the DL cache, no result.

That sounds like an HDD/SSD Sensor issue.. does this happen in browser downloads as well?

So when it Reaches 60 MB/s Your download stops going Forward?

No, for instance when downloading far cry 4, nothing happens. Same with downloading ZIP files from chrome.

No. When it hits 60, it says it has all the data and just needs to write it to the disc, but it actually doesnt, therefor stopping the download.

I have a similar issue with Campus internet, it's almost like it's too fast so the download will just stop for entire minutes over and over. I COULD download a 60Gb game in 10 minutes, but the download keeps ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself so it's 4-5 hours all the same.

That's likely because they're throttling you.

It will misreport the speed.
