Add a way to create a start menu shortcut after installation
Atleast on linux for new users, you have to make a desktop shortcut and then deliver the .desktop file to ~/.local/share/applications/ which he might not have the knowledge to do.

This is the suggestion or ideas area to make the Steam program itself better, this is not a suggestion or idea for the Steam program.

Oh so it is, Just thought they were asking how to do it in the OS. Though not sure why people use desktop shortcuts for game in steam as it has all the shortcuts there in the list.

The suggestion was the program and not the OS. As in right click the game and "Add start menu shortcut" just like there is a "Create desktop shortcut". The thing is that atleast in xubuntu, you can't drag a desktop shortcut into the start menu like you can in windows.

I agree they should add an option to create a shortcut in the app menu as you can create one on the desktop. But the fact that you can't create one manually on Xubuntu is incorrect, you can easly edit the app menu and create a launcher containing the command to run the game (the one used by the desktop shortcut). That's exactly what Steam does in order to create a menu shortcut, and you can do it yourself.
