No Purchase Older Than 30 Days
Your account must have a successful purchase older than 30 days, but not older than a year in order to access the Community Market. The purchase of wallet funds, games, DLCs and software meet this requirement. Retail CD key activation and gift purchases do not satisfy this requirement.
"We see you have recently made a purchase on your account, but it is not 30 days old yet."
But yea, it can be a bit confusing so that is what the community is here for. Good luck to you.
EDIT..Thankfully, the limited account status is a one-time thing.
So I'm not quite sure i get it. Can i just add money to my wallet to make the community market restriction go away (after waiting 30 days... got that part;)), or does it have to be a purchase of a game or something ingame?

Then yes that counts.
If you added via a wallet card/code, then no you need to buy a game. Any game, any price.
While this has been true for a very long time, Teutep has confirmed that wallet codes now qualify as purchases for the market.
This is new apparently, and they were supposed to change the FAQ about that. I have not checked it yet myself.
Someone should correct me/confirm if I am wrong or not, please.
EDIT...
Yes, exactly . Thanks. This is a textbook case as to why reviving very old threads (not this thread here specifically) may not always be best due to things changing. As in my post above still says you have to make a purchase, like the old way.
No harm done here, though.
