Download starts at 4.6mb/s then drops down to 100KB/s then goes to 0.

Hey guys!

I seem to be having sudden trouble downloading a game on steam. I just downloaded one fine about 2 hours ago my download speed was at a constant 4.5MB/s. I've just come back to download another one an this time its starts off as normal downloading at 4.5MB/s then drops to about 100KB/s then goes to 0 and then goes back up to 88KB/s then goes to zero and just stops.

I've tried changing my download region twice. (I'm based in the UK) and restarted steam multiple times. Its getting really frustrating as you can imagine. No one else is connected to my router not even via phone. I have tested out my network connection and it works as normal so nothing wrong with my router or ISP.

Anyone got any ideas?

I've checked all those. My network connectivity is fine. I have no Spyware, Malware, Adware or Viruses on my machine and there are no programs running that may interfere with steam.

Still not working :(

No programs "RUNNING" ? What does that mean, please ?

And just because you can use the internet, that does not mean your networking with Steam is fine.

Are you using a router ? If you are, it was explained in one of the links to bypass it with ethernet only while troubleshooting. So did you do that ?
