Games Wont open With MSIFterburner/RivaTuner

The games are fine when MSi isnt open but when i open it they crash and wont open on the steam libaray but they do open when MSI is closed

Don't try to launch Steam games with those programs. Use the play button in your Steam library. If you mean you want Afterburner to launch with Windows, then add that to your startup menu.

I dont launch the games with these programs they are used to check your PC when playing in game like FPS or heat of the Computer

I know what the programs are for. But your OP literally says just that......

Go to "help" in the top of the client. Then "system information". Copy and paste all that here, please.

Then, do this please......

Take screenshots of all of the programs you have installed on your computer. Control panel then programs/programs and features. (Windows 7,8,8.1) or "apps" (Windows 10 click "Start" (Windows icon on bottom left))

Click Windows Start and type in msconfig and run that resulting process. Go to the services tab and check the box on bottom "Hide all Microsoft services". Take screenshots of all that is left.

Then go to the startup tab on top of that same window(Task Manager in W10). Take screenshots of all that there also.

Post all the links to the above screenshots here, using a file hosting site such as imgur.com

Thats strange then cause in the past it was fine and i never chnaged anything only what i had since if rist got the program

I have never seen a case where Afterburner actually caused issues with Steam, but just to be complete here with the information, it has been on the list for a long time.........

but as I said, I have never seen a case where it was seen to be the actual issue.

Then ensure you have the most recent version, and install it again and go from there.

These GPU apps should never cause an issue with a Game Client; the issue sometimes is settings, like in RivaTuner; some games simply do not like it. Cause Overlay via these kinds of apps are done in RAM as a ScriptHook.

Once you set them up again, could you screenshot and share the tabs in MSI Afterburner settings. As well as within RivaTuner.

You can screenshot capture the active window one at a time using ALT+PrintScreen

My suspicion is that RivaTuner needs to be updated to version 7.0.0 because older versions seem to conflict with either Steam's current build or Rockstar's launcher for GTA V - I had issues launching GTA V with the older version of RivaTuner that installs with the version 4.3.0 of MSI Afterburner. Try uninstalling the current version of RivaTuner, restart your system and install version 7.0.0 of the application; this fixed the launch issue that I was having with GTA V.

Do you by any chance have these applications set to monitor your FPS along with having Steam set to do that also ?

Steam in the top left, then settings, then "In-Game".

It is normally suggested that you have only one application set to monitor hardware and FPS, for example. Maybe that could be it. Just an idea.
