Do you mean to say i could permanently remove a game and it would be like i never installed the game from the DVD?

Why don't you just stop the install from disk then install directly from steam
You're already downloading the required patches so what exactly are you mad about? You'd have to download the entire game anyway if you bought it on Steam. Plus since the game is now officially registered to your steam account you're basically set

No, it's just like the other guys said: The key is used, and it will never get unused. Just like EVERY other key.
Remove any trace that i've installed my DVD copy and activated it on steam.
You already have the game activated on your account
As such you are solving a problem that doesn't exist
