So far, Rust is the only survival+dinosaurs+zombies+buzzwords+somethingsomething that I haven't regretted purchasing. I would recommend waiting for a Rust sale.

Also, there's always Minecraft.

Early Access, but it's free. Survival, MMO, weird creatures/monsters, pretty big world, no crafting that I know of.

Honestly there are basically no "good free survival games" but Nomad is a good one. But if your not into it then I would just wait till Rust, Ark, Raft, etc are on sale.

There's a great open-source roguelike survival-horror project called
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead[cataclysmdda.org], it's great if you prefer in-depth game mechanics over graphics (because who cares, it's full of content & player choice dude).
