Can't use paypal to purchase things
I get the following error:

Your purchase has not been completed.
The payment processor has reported an authorization failure. Please select a different payment method.

Everything's okay on my end and I contacted support, they told me to use a different card, but I have only one card. The issue started yesterday and I never encountered any other problem before. What can I do? Support is not really helping much :/

Steam support can't help you. Talk to PayPal, it's their serivce throwing the erorr.

Can you not use your card directly instead of through paypal?

Did your bank recently send you a new card or did you activate something new? Usually that happens to me; have to end up editting the expiration date on the card.

Also, did you make sure you have enough funds/credit on your card?

Usually you can link your bank account with Paypal. Did you try using your bank account instead of the card?

And...throwing this out there...is it a debit gift card you're trying to use? Back then I had issues with that stupid OneVanilla card.

I have enough funds and nothing is out of the ordinary. I noticed that plenty of people had this error at some point.

I've had this problem in the past, and again today, and one of two things usually works:

1. The Steam desktop client is really, really, really bad at completing PayPal purchases, especially on macOS:
- Open a browser and login to store.steampowered.com
- Populate your shopping cart in your browser.
- Complete your purchase through your browser.
- Restart your Steam client and happily download your new purchases.

or...

2. Unlink your PayPal account from Steam (because Steam's caching invalid information):
- Open a browser and login to store.steampowered.com
- In the upper right corner click on your account name and select Account Details.
- Under the "Store & Purchase History" banner delete your PayPal payment link.
- Try to complete your purchase again but DO NOT tick "Save my payment preference..." on the payment type selection page.

It sounds like item 2 could be your problem, probably due to Steam caching PayPal account information about an expired credit card.

Ace!

Thanks for that and I would like to confirm that worked and add to also Clear Browser Cache through Steam settings

My issue was that I could pay people through Paypal so Paypal was ok
I could buy directly from Steam's website using my debit card so it wasn't a bank issue
But I couldn't use Paypal to buy from Steam
= -----> Steam issue

So yeah, corrupt Steam browser cache.
