Can you sort the games in your Steam library by time played?
Sorting the games in your Steam library by time played would bring the most played in your favourites to the top of the list.

Not in the library, but if you go to your profile > recently played > all games > then on the right click "playtime".

You can always define favorites yourself. Another idea: Launch Steam games from Steam's jump list. Then you'll get this very effect.

You can sort the entire community at byhoursplayed.com but not your own. Looks like you have to manually sort favourites.

You can now sort by hours played in your Steam Library.

That's not what mine looks like. I don't see that menu on the right at all, and there isn't a "games and software" category on the pulldown menu, just games.

It says Software because he has it checked in. The only thing you need to focus on is that you need to select the category of games, in his case 'Action'.
After that you can see all the games in that category to the right where you can also sort them.

I can't just do it for ALL my games?

If you mean the game listing to the left, no. You can make a shelf that includes all your games on the right and use it's sorting function as shown in my screencap above.

Here's an example from my library:

How long does that take? Is there a way to add every game at once instead of clicking "add to list" one at a time?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. It's unusually complicated.

its really not. select (or add) a shelf and set it to 'all games' then sort by time played.

I guess if it's something you haven't done before. I didn't go into great detail as I wasn't aware of how much instruction you were needing, simply presenting there was a solution to your inquiry.

1. Click Library (obviously)
2. Unsort by recent activity, because apparently it won't let you show all in one group that way.
3. Uncheck Group by Collection, (which, incidentally, is hidden in the dropdown box) for the same reason as above.
4. Click on the word "all" to show it on the right side
5. On the right hand panel, click "hours played" in the pulldown menu

This whole time I only had them sorted by last played. So of course I wouldn't know all these extra steps.
