Unplug and switch off your router for 3 minutes the connect then cables back and switch it back on. See if that resets your connection. Make sure you physically remove all the cables and power cable from the router.
I'll do what you said, re-do the speedtest thing and post it again.
Download: 6.55Mbps
Upload: 0.68Mbps
They're my new tests after the complete reset. I guess why theres so much more of an improvement is because i unplugged, disconnected instead of just pressing reset/just turning off at the wall for 2 minutes
Sky doesn't do speeds you 1st claimed to have. You cant get 100s of mbs per second with sky.
Consoles in the house get OVER 100s, upto a GB if im lucky.
My smartphone does a nice 1-4Mbps, which is expected since its just a phone and nothing big is normally on it.
So i think its just the hardware of my laptop.
The Sky Broadband is quite a new make this one[res.cloudinary.com]
My laptop is an Acer, weak and broken but still works.
Phone's a Vodafone
Xbox One and PS4 (probably the only person to have both at once lol)
Edit: Problem is now, i'm only getting Disk Usage, alot of diskusage from steam but no network at all. Nope, sorry, it's just Payday 2
Just remember Mb vs MB/s a 40mb connection will get you about 3.5mbs download speed.
That sounds like your router is throttling it
I'd do a hard reset on it
