Counter Strike Source on a CD [Solved]
So I just found my 5-6 year old CSS CD and id like to install the game, when the installation was done and I tried to boot up the game they asked me for an activation key. Now as I can remember I never recieved an activation code from the cashier (insane that I remember that huh?) and I dont know where I can find the key. Any help would be appreciated!

It would have to be in the box. Was it a second hand copy? If yes, it was most likely sold without a key and is utterly useless as the game can not be played without it.
Anyway, why did you wait 5-6 years to activate the game after purchasing it?

It was not a second had and I had to deal with the same issue back then. I couldn't really care less then when I was younger. But now I really wanna solve this issue. Wouldnt the key be somewhere in the CD's folders? Otherwise I guess its a hopeless case.

No, it's not saved digitally on the disc as all CS:S install discs are identical in terms of data on them.
It was always a physical key printed on paper.

Well in that case there is nothing I can do, and contacting the store 6 years later about them not giving a activation key seems weird. Well thanks for the help.
The key would be on a piece of paper (looking at my box copy right now), It's called the "quick refrernce card" and has the key at the bottom of the paper. If you don't have that then you'll more than likely want to purchase a new copy.

You could put the game on your wishlist and buy it the next time it is on sale.

New and unused, sure. Open and used, not even close.
