What actually happens when people report you for "spamming" or "harassment"
I mean say person 1 called person 2 a n word and person 2 reports him. I personally dont think they do anything, especially if the account is above level 15 and has multiple years on record. I dont really care im just curious as to what their actual process is and if there is any kind of punishment.

You have bad friends. Steam will probably laugh at the report.
nah it was a joke. we do it all the time. Also yeah, I kinda knew they do absolute ♥♥♥♥ due to the fact that there are so many scammers and hackers allowed to browse steam freely

If you report then it will be looked at by the moderators and assessed

I've reported users for spamming and their posts were merged or such

If you post something that breaks the rules, then the moderators look at it from that perspective. using the 'n-word' is simply not appropriate. Its part of the word filter for a reason.

1. reported for racism

2. it is not only an inside joke from the movie. it is a derogatory term that has been in use for decades.

This is going of the thread a little bit but how did you come up with your username?

not that this would prevent any mainstream-internet discourse-quashing machine like steam from meting out some stupid "punishment", but in this particular context the term was being used for editorial/educational purpose and IMO you were out of line and rather fascistic for reporting.

(if anything, he should be reported for "using forbidden terminology", not "being racist" per se. translation: get a grip.)

that being said, the OP could have got his point across without saying the actual term.

Well i guess it depends if they get the inside joke or not
The basic idea, they look into it and decide what to do case to case
