problem with steam - pages not loading images not loading etc
Is there some issue with steam going on?
Storepages arent loading, well they load but not the images they show broken icon.

"frontpage" same problem, doesnt load in icons for the various games like the most bought list or any list really.

No internet problems here, everything else loads just fine at any rate.
Doesnt happen on edge browser it seems.

Finally someone with the same problems. I have this since a few days. steam store is extremly slow and some images not loading. same with any other site in Steam. While i type in this post it twakes several seconds until my text is shown, like it takes an intervall of 5 seconds to refresh whats shown. i tried to redownload all steam files, and i installed the steam beta patch, but nothing helped. when i try to start some games i even get the error "STEAM is required to play this game" and i cant play. Dont know whats going on, yesterday it worked for a short amount of time. Pls steam support, elp.

Everything works fine if i open it in the browser.

Same problem. Started some time today.
Cannot open Steam Store in FireFox or Internet Explorer either. Chrome is working fine.

I found a fix, at least for the lagging and steam games not starting. i just installed the new nvidia drivers. The lagging in steam is gone and i can start my steam games again. Some pictures are still missing but at least the rest works.

I had the same problem and updating the Nvidia driver fixed it! Thanks!

Updating the NV drivers, are you serious? ;)
I have the same prob. since today, no store page and no feed...loads fine in chrome, but not in FF.

Got the same problem, after cache clears and settings flush, restartet my router and now it works again.
Loading the steamstore in Firefox redirects the CDN to *.edgecast.steamstatic.com which doesn't work. Using Chrome uses *.akamai.steamstatic.com which works.

Faking my UserAgent in Firefox did let me load the store again (because now it loads the working *.akamai.steamstatic.com).

There is clearly something broken on Steams end.

Can confirm that this seems to be the issue.

FireFox loads: *.edgecast.steamstatic.com = does not work.
Chrome loads: *.akamai.steamstatic.com = works fine.

Ok, seems like nvidia driver update only fixed it temporarily. today i have the same issue with laging pages and steam games i cant start. this has to be a steam issue and they have to fix this ASAP

For some reason my Chrome and all other browsers want to use *.edgecast.steamstatic.com.

Is there any way to change that without extensions?

Obviously (or, rather "it never fixed it, that was just random luck").

Displaying images in a browser has nothing to do with drivers, unless they are like really going mad with trying to patch all sorts of hacks into all sorts of software. And even then, it would only hit users that actually use those nightmarish drivers.

Well for me it got fixed for a while too after updating drivers, no idea how or why.

But you're right, problem is back.
some images load but pretty much no store page does.

avatars are sometimes working, its really random.
Fairly sure the problem is on steams side of things.

Considering the fact we're all from different parts of the world with different computers, its too random. (unless everyone here and in similar threads is dutch)

Can confirm, problems with Steam content (cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com). Not caused by drivers or browsers.
The Giving One Jun 10, 2017 @ 8:18am
Is this only in a browser or the client also ? Has anyone tried this in the client, if that also is giving problems ?

Steam in the top left of the client, then settings, then Web Browser. Delete Web Browser Cache. Allow the page to refresh.

Wait, as this may take several seconds, and don't click on anything. When you see the page refresh, then see if that helped.
MrPatalchu Jun 10, 2017 @ 10:16am
I tried that. It sadly didn't help. The store page shows up as a white browser page with plain text, some icons and lots of hyperlinks. Loading that takes forever though.

Only the client seems to be affected. Browser loads everything just fine.
