but i dont understand it because it says Download Speed Conversions
( if its not currency conversion we have to worry about its download speed conversions now)
Anyway if you read the website it says this
Advertised Connection Speed (lets do the first one)
3 megabits/second (mines almost that i guess)
Est. Max Steam Download Speed (again first one)
384KB/s
which is bull crap though because i have gotten my steam downloads up to 1.1MB/s
under my network settings it says 1GB/s it hardly ever reaches over 6.25 MB/s i wish it bloody would but it does not - and i have tried every option given to me even from that website
(it only seems to edit it for just single games though. my rate in game is fine though perfect - it's just downloading is what is messed up
If so, that is an issue because you cannot bypass the wireless connection and router directly and run ethernet straight to the modem, as in a usual configuration.
Routers and wireless connections are often the cause of downloading issues, and so bypassing the router is a normal suggestion here. Also, seen here....

Have you tried resetting the unit to factory default mode ? Does it have a reset button on it ?
Don't assume this unit is not relevant to the issue.
You can also boot into safe mode with networking to eliminate software conflicts as the possibility, although if you have tested the issue on different computers, this may not be the most likely cause.
Have you tried changing download regions to many different places several times ?
What is the opearting system and is that OS 32 or 64 bit ?
What is the model of the computer or motherboard, if custom built ?
okay i knew i should have added this into my comments ( how come it's only an issue through steam yet my PS4 and XBOX ONE which also is on the same modem/router has no issues at all with downloading games at and up to 8MB/s)
it has nothing to do with the operating system either.. this is a new state of the art gaming computer - i had the same issue with my old ASUS Gaming Laptop which mind u was 6 years old.
And yes of cause its 64. 32 bit is quite old mind you what machine runs on that these days?
and as my discussions reads i have TRIED EVERYTHING.. it has nothing to do with my computer i just paid 2 grand on a new computer the other day and the issue still lies with ONLY STEAM
well atleast urs is running at 1.6MB/s
you must have cable or something because i only have ADSL+2 top speed for me is like 3.83 Mbps and my steam only downloads at 480 kbps if that sometimes it's as low as 150 kbps it's like i have a dial up connection but yet everything else on the same damn router downloads 5X faster than steam - but sometimes steam gets excited and downloads at 1.1Mbps
yes i know.
ALSO WINDOWS 10 I HAVE
(i dont want a new computer to start with windows 8.
windows 10 every computer has unless it is an ancient machine)
Short Cap:
My computer is new as of 5th Of June 2017
Downloads are the same speed as of my old machine 6 years old
Download Speeds get upto 8Mbps on other devices connected to the same Router/Moderm
Computer Specs are on the start of my dicussion
New Computer so of cause it is Windows 10
Even when not on wireless but on cable instead it still has crap download speeds
but in saying that all my other devices are through Wireless.
I have modem and router for wifi, and i use this combo since 2011 or 2012 and i never have a issue with this. i also have windows 10 64bits pro, and my computer is basically new. i don´t know why its happening, i just want an answer to resolve this ♥♥♥♥ :'(
