Cannot Play Game Due To Requiring a 64Bit Version of Windows?
Hi all
For some reason i cannot play Rainbow Six Siege as whenever i try and launch the game it pops up with an error saying "The game you are installing requires a 64bit version of windows"
Other games like Dota 2 work perfectly but for some reason Siege will not.
I have played Siege previously on my PC so i have no idea whats happening
Please Help!

yes. your OS needs to be 64bit.

dota 2 does not require this but R6S does.

install a 64bit OS - Minimal requirements can change over time

I am unable to upgrade to a 64bit version of windows because my System Type is x86-based pc
This makes no sense as i have ran R6S 100 times ???

Unless you have a very old processor, then you should be able to install a 64 bit OS.

R6S has always required a 64bit OS.

Even when the system requirements were revealed in 2015, they stated a 64 bit OS was needed.

If you used to run it, then have you had to reinstall your OS at some point since? If so, you may have installed the 32 bit version and not the 64 bit.

if you have win10 you should be able to do a clean install at no cost as long as you have a microsoft account .
the os is tied to the pc/owner .

I have recently bought a new hard drive so i am now running two hard drives.
On one hard drive it has all of my games and on the other hard drive it has just windows. I still dont see how this could be the issue as it is the same operating system.

Because there are two diffrent versions of the same OS. One is a 32bit OS and can only access up to 3.5 GB of ram and only rund 32bit programs. The other is a 64bit OS and access a far larger amount of tam and run 32 and 64 bit programs.

R6S requires access to larger amounts of ram then a 32 bit OS allows for and it runs with a 64bit executable.

If you recently got a new HDD and had to reinstall the OS, then chances are you installed from the wrong disk/download or chose the 32bit option.
