Rainbow Six. It is a finished game, where as Rust is still Early Access and may change.

I suggest checking the Rust forums and reviews. If they had a local server option, like ARK, where you can play on your own, I would suggest Rust, but with the complaints of griefing going on in the public servers I can't suggest it.

Both may bore you faster then you may want, but at least Rainbow Six is fully released so you know what you are getting.

Put it this way, i get people who play rust telling me there base got raided and all there stuff got stolen again for like the hundreth time and yet they still go right back at it without any regret. I think thats a good endorsement for a game.

Seige, as good as an all you can eat shoot out buffet can get, is, unlike rust one directional. If heat of the moment is your thing and you dont fancy the labour part that surrounds it, then seige is a good choice.

There both good games for different reasons so the question is, do you want a little more from just shooting at people. If you do then rust is the way forward.

Oh as spawn of Totoro rightly points out, rust is no place for single players but again seige is hardly a prize winner at single player campaigns either but at least going in blind, you have a better chance of survival if you get my meaning.

Rust if you have friends without a doubt but only if you play it socially, you cannot play that game solo with any effect.. You'll be targeted all the time and any Base you build will be ripped down when you go to sleep.

I hope your still here chiken as i was adding a point to my orignal post when you replied. Spawn of Totoro did make this point already but i thought it best to back him up as hes most certainly not wrong.

don't buy early access survival games with crafting. that's the unholy trinity of slow development

Honestly, i'v played Rust and it's a lot of good fun, but $14.99 USD for Rainbow Six Siege (for the starter edition, I think a little extra grinding is a small price to pay) it's a better deal in my opinion, your getting a full fleshed AAA title with plenty of new content being released.

I highly reccomend Rainbow Six: Siege. I'd wait for a sale (the game goes on sale often) and get the "standard edition" instead of purchasing the Starter right now.

I'd say wait till the end of next month when the Steam Summer Sale starts. That way you can buy both for a low price. Unless a free weekend happens first. Then you can always try before you buy.
