Yes, as long as you are online and play a game, everybody in your family group will get kicked out.
Ouch . That makes so little sense . If a game is free I do not own it . That is the same as beeing online and not playing .

If its a free to play game then make a separate steam account.
I am talking about Free games that do not make any money . You can't really share a free game because anyone can get it so it should not interact with family sharing restriction

Ill post it in suggestions , thx you guys

Well, that's how Steam works. You can kind of bypass this though, if your partner starts the game, then goes offline (plugs out his cable, turns off WiFi) you can start the game without kicking him out. The only problem is that your partner can only play singleplayer then. I haven't tried yet, if your partner can go online again without getting kicked out, although I think he will.

No I really should not have to do it . This is a simple thing that has no effect on the market and should not work like that .

Sorry, but welcome to the reality. I don't think Valve would ever change that, because they would probably have to change everything about how games are registered. Because from what I have seen, I think free games aren't really "free" behind the scenes, but cost 0,00€.

That's not his problem. His problem is that he wants to play a f2p game, while his partner plays a "regular" game.

Yeah get a separate account for free2play. Regardless of who owns what etc.. If they want to share and know they cant this is what you do.
Again . I am not talking about Free 2 Play games ( those make money )

I mean games that are FREE and make no profit .

That's true, OP, do this
Free games ( that make no money ) Should not restrict Family Sharing
I understand the reason for sharing library as a whole to prevent potential abuse. Although I think that we should have the option to disable VAC games from sharing.

However Steam has games that are FREE ( that make no money ) Not Free to Play games. If I play Free game my family will get kicked out even though I do not own a copy

If my little brother playing a game that I own I could play one of the free games that I like ( there are many )

There is no actual reason for the Free game to be part of sharing restriction system because it makes no money. If I can be online and not block someone I should be able to play a free game.

If they are free, then all the second account needs to do it add it as well and it will be on their account.

I see no reason why a free game should be shared to begin with.
