Do I need a Steam Link to use the Mayflash Wii U Pro Controller adapter on Steam games?

I recently bought a Mayflash Pro Controller adapter off of Amazon, and I'm trying to play Death Road to Canada. The adapter is syncing properly, and the computer is picking up the inputs, but it's just not working with Steam games. Is there any way I can fix this, preferably without buying a Steam Link or using some sketchy bluetooth wizardry?

You might be out of luck, I tried using mine with anything and my computer also picked it up yet didn't work, my friend had to help me set my sketchy wizardry programs to work.
