The vast majority of Steam users are happy with the sales they way it is. Just because a very small amount of people don'y like it, does not mean it should be changer or has bad customer service.
The saying "A customer is always right" was never a true saying for a buisness. If the customer always had their way, everything would be free. Then they would still find something to complain about.
There is another saying to "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.".
You may be cursing Steam when you start playing Bad Rats. Even when purchasing it at 49 cents. ;)
"You expect me to drink this free coffee hot?"
Starbucks in a nutshell during a giveaway :p
Yup! Bad grammar, odd gameplay and bad sound... hell, should I write a forum post about how it's Steams fault I couldn't contain my purse? LOL, I jest I jest. I'm from the UK so it was 34p. I can't even get a loaf of bread for that price! Games are cheaper than food...!
Because you like defending others and causing conflict.
If they just stick to a price, then there won't be as many games on sale. How does that make everyone happy?
I'd say conformation bias, cognative dissonace or belief bias.
You analogy is completely wrong. What Steam is doing cultivates the OPPOSITE of impulsivity and obliviousness. It encourages you NOT to jump on a sale impulsively at the risk that you will end up paying more then you had to. It incentives price checking and waiting instead of buying freely and confidently. And find me a retailer that doesn't have a price adjustment policy. Steam is out of step with the majority of retail on this issue.
There wouldn't be an issue if they didn't put items on sale BEFORE they do a flash sale on them. That's just not smart business at all. Because the vast majority of retailers would never do something like that and then not honor the discount for everyone, people assume that when an item goes on sale, they are safe to buy it without being undercut later in the SAME SALE.
If this is true then why is the OP complaining about the fact that he made an impulse purchase and didn't like the price? A sane person, who knows how to budget, would wait. Most people lack that kind of common sense... and stupid people are worth a sweet penny.
So you are complaining about cheap games going cheaper... wow ok.
Physical retailers are diffrent then digital/online ones. Amazon won't give you a refund. Newegg won't.
If you want a consistan sale with far fewer options, then shop somewhere else. Probem solved.
If only 10 out of every 1,000,000 people are complaing about the sales, that just show how good of a job Steam is doing. So why would they change it?
Alos, I just checked the Black Friday ads. They had flash sales too that ended after a few hours. So you can't say brick stores don't do it either.
well since I already said I am happy with steam that would make me more likely to support them in this instance.
you might be on to something...maybe this is the marketing stratagy behind it.
problem is their have been no logical arguments against my belief, therefore I am not displaying any bias simply using my own logic.
Thank you for proving my point.
Also, you seem to be confusing your opinion with logic.
I'm glad you said it before I did :D
