UNFAIR Pillar of Community Badge.

I recently decided it could be fun to upgrade my steam level and started working on the pillar of community badge (as well as playing games for my card drops). I got totally stumped when I came to the part where I need to link "my facebook account". Not only would this violate so many of my privacy ideals, I also dont even have a facebook account! (you guessed it, facebook itself violates my privacy ideals).

Now how the hell am I supposed to ever complete this badge? Do I really have to make a fake facebook account with nothing in it and link that account, just to get a badge level on the pillar of community?

You don't have to do everything listed to get the max badge. I know I left one or two things out.

Just skip that one and do the others.

Just checked. I didn't do Use Emoticon or post a video.

That's odd.. on mine it says: "Complete 14 of 26 Steam Community tasks to earn the Level 1 badge." and there is 26 tasks available, including the facebook linkage.

If I can still get the badge without linking with facebook I guess my biggest complaint here is kinda moot, but it's still unfair seeing as it's easier for people who want to give up their privacy to get the badge. I'll just try and do the rest of the things then, see how it works out.

You don't have to get all 26 tasks to complete level 2. I forget the exact number needed but it's something like 22 or 23.

I concur. I never posted a video or linked my Facebook and I got the badge.

I have 22 out of 26 and the badge was granted.

Once I reached level 1 of the badge it now shows 22/26 to get next level.

I still think it's unfair that people that dont have facebook are at a disadvantage.

it's not just a random possibility, it's a possibility that unlocks in-steam content.

Not since you don't have to do it to get the badge.

link it to get the acheivment
unlink it
forget about the FB account which has no correct info about you

Which task do you deem the hardest to do: Record and upload a video of gameplay footage or link your facebook account? I'm one task away from level 2 now and I dont want to sell any of my cards, I dont have enough cards to forge a badge and I guess I'll just have to find a way to record some video since there is no easy way out for me here :P
