Superantispyware found Trojan in steam folder
I've just ran a scan with Superantispyware and it has marked these files as a trojan horse:

Steam\Bin\Audio.DLL
Steam\Bin\Opengltest.exe

Is it false positive or should I take action?

All DLL and EXE files can be infected so I don't think there is any way to be sure. Your best bet is to just delete the files and allow the Stream client to re-load them.

Yeah im getting now as well, it seems that Valve has messed up, and uploaded trojan in steam in their lastest update to steam, this is not good.

As Companion cube said it could be a false positive. http://forums.superantispyware.com/index.php?/forum/32-false-positives/ post there so the staff can be alerted.

To be safe I'm getting rid of the files and stopping steam from auto-running on start up till we can get a solid answer.

Very odd, it seems you cannot report false about items when they are caught by the real time detection. so you have to turn that off, restart steam, then scan then report them false.

Ive done that now, so hopefully they will take it up with Valve to find out what is going, until them, ive gonna let SAS delete them everytime. Whats odd is that steam runs fine without these files, i find that a bit off.

Same here, on the latest SuperAntiSpyware definitions update. It's very likely a false positive if we're all getting this at once. Not that I would take chances until we get something official.

Tested my rig, which almost never touches the internet for anything but school work and Steam, and it also tested positive. I'm pretty confident that it's a false positive.

Exactly the same problem here. Malware Bytes and Microsoft Security Essentials don't detect anything tho..
FreakingDustin 2013 年 1 月 28 日 上午 11:51
Essentials gave me nothing also. Haven't tried MalwareBytes yet.
Running AVG. I'll let you guys know what that says.

Avast! Finds nothing wrong with them either. MB also clean.

On an interesting note, a "Vitchm" says that "opengltest.exe can up as a false positive with Avast yesterday too" on the SAS forums. Not to patronize you, Spawn, but to be thorough, you did fully update Avast, right?

If it did come up on Avast for that poster, maybe new Steam updates made those files POTENTIALLY unstable? IDK...

Vitchm seems to be the only claiming that Avast! detected anything, though, so IDK what to make of it.

AVG found nothing.

Yes. Just re-installed everything today, downloaded and updated Avast!.

Good, I figured. Like I said, I wasn't trying to patronize you, I just don't know your personal level of technical know-how, being someone on the internet I've never met, lol. I wouldn't have even asked if that SAS forum member hadn't said anything.
