May not change that player(s) from cheating, but will ban them from official sites. Can't stop evil mindness but can send to hell and not let into heaven. LOL
What has Vac been doing for the last 6+ years then?
Failing at providing a cheat free environment, which they state in their VAC statement.
How is making separate server going to fix that?
It would provide a player a cheat free environemnt who do not cheat.
Sorry accidentally delete the last response, but to answer ur thoughts, I will say this. What tech u asked it is available to stop cheating. So, you must ask why has it not been aveil ?
Also, I not saying that goes for all servers, there will be servers that allow cheats and always has. All I am saying provide what was promise thru the VAC statement, it is not for me to do but for Valve to do.
VAC does bad cheaters, its just always a few steps behind.
Black Ops 2 uses dedicated drvers that don't allow mods. Cheats still happen. Your idea is already in use in many place, and is nothing new. It has not stopped hackers/cheaters already.
Counter Strike uses dediacated servers though out every version. Still has hacks.
The idea won't work. Even MMOs have hackers/cheater in them. That is the most secure you can get too.
Diablo 2 had hackers in the Closed B.net. That also follows your idea.
Yes it is true that there will be cheaters no matter what, and cheaters will get on sites, but if u stop all mods.cheats from being run on the server, it will denied them the mods/cheats; also when tthey try to use them, at that time u ban immediately that IP, yes it is true that they can get a new ip but if they try to use them on that ip do the same. This will not stop all evil mindness that wish to cheat but will limit them and eventually lock them out of servers, so the players , who do not cheat, may have better odds at play a fair game. Again , please read servers types above, servers can allow cheats if they wish but must be stated as such.
A cheat/hack is something that is used on a serever that doesn't allow cheat/hacks. That is why they are hacks/cheats. Servers are already ready set to deny them, but people find ways around them. Even if you give them a server to cheat/hack on, they don't care. They will still go to the secure server and cheat.
IP blocking is useless. That is why they block the game-key and/or account. It is far more effective. Like you said, they can get a new IP, but the old IP will be given to someone else and if they want to play, they will be blacked becuse of the other person's cheating.
What you keep trying to suggest is/has already being done and has been tried many times. It does not work.
I don't think you know how anti-cheats work. You can't simply invent some magic software to somehow block every cheat method on the planet. In order to block a software, you got to know it exist and how it operates. This requires reverse software engineering which requires time and money for every new/unknown cheat software.
You make it sound easy and cheap when the fact is, it's incredibly expensive, time consuming, and difficult.
Your suggestion is akin to telling a car engineer to make a car faster by "adding" more horsepower. It's just not that simple.
I find myself repeating myself, lol. Yes there will cheaters, but becuase there are cheaters in any game, does not mean you do nothing, if u remove them and denie them access (as I say before they can get new accounts and etc., ban it too, if they use mods and denie access immediately, this will limit there access and might even change their actions). Remember, we are talking about official sites/servers.
Here a thought "some weeds grows in a garden, do you remove them or let them takeover the garden" lol Now, the garden cannot remove them and sure there may be more weed seeds in the garden; so it is the responiblity of the gardener to do its job. New weeds will pop up and what do u do ? (remove or let them takeover)
The whole idea is to give players the chance to have a fair game, tho it is not guarranty, it will improve the odds/chances of such.
