I've gotten some that require Capsule, GMG's own distribution platform DRM, but it's not too bad really.
Plus if you get ones that use Capsule, you can trade them in if they have a trade-in value. You won't get much, but it's still more than you can get from Steam. It's kind of funny, you'd think Steam would implement something similar. Trade-in games, get a little Steam wallet to spend on other Steam games. It wouldn't likely be easy getting enough to just get a game from trade-ins, but it would be enough to motivate you to buy more Steam wallet in order to get the game you want.
Anyways, wipoutX pretty much nailed it. There are some games that GMG sell that are linked to Capsule, GMG distribution platform. You can tell the games apart via the pink text beneath the game's discription, "This game cannot be traded in." or game has X DRM. In either case, it is clearly labeled, all you have to do is read. More to the point however, if you have a game you want to activate on Steam, but it is tradeable or has a DRM other then Steam, it may not/probably won't activate on Steam, which is why you must look these things up prior to purchasing as opposed to after purchasing it.
