And Skyrim isn't? Better then most the junk out there.
Mount and Blade was bad, didn't even get through the demo. Risen wasn't good either, I played it for an hour and ever went back.
Divinity 2 was more of a 3rd person action game.
but untill then fallout will be my favorite game by bethesda i still remember the awe inspiring vista from the start of the game when i left the vault and the running around in a circle for an hour looking for megaton >_< back then i didnt realise there was a objective marker =/
also the 3rd persona cam kinda sucks in skyrim which is why i didnt include it in my original list
You just described every 3rd person RPG there is. Mash a button and kill.

the closest game's to how i explained it are KoA and Fable but even those games have more to the combat to make them more intresting
While Skyrim is fun, it's definitely not meant to be played in third-person. I'm looking more for the third-person combat style.
