It's safe as long as you don't reveal your login details to anyone. Personally, if you want to be safer, I would suggest using Paypal because then none of your payment details are saved to Steam.

i don;t know, I does just put into Steam wallet then remove my Credit Information. Best to be safe that way. Besides When buying i might go over the limits from the card LOL
Pretty much as any other serious online store I guess. Use a prepaid instead of a credit card if you prefer a bit more security.

This. As safe as any other online store.

I usualy use it for the purchase, then remove it on any service. Better to be safe then have to deal with the after effects.

I have stopped using some compnaies that won't let you remove it easely. Napster was one, you can never remove it, only have them delete the entire account. Gamefly was another, had to contact their support to get a one time ability to remove the card, a 2-3 day process.

To make it easier, I have Steam save the information, then go to Account Details to remove the card. That way only the card info is removed and the address and such still stays.

My computer has been hacked by some fake microsoft people.I took it to my local computer store and told them to fix it.My computer is now unhacked. Will it be still safe to use my credit card on steam?

If your computer is genuinely "unhacked" as you put it then yes. Personally I'd just format the thing myself and reinstall from scratch, then I'd know it's clean.

It's safe as much as any other online store. I've never had a problem with it, and neither have other people I know who've been a part of steam a lot longer. As «Gғм» Kid Of The Century said, use a pre-paid card if you want to be super safe.

Despite it being relatively safe I prefer to never save credit card information online there is always a change of no matter how small it still for this information to be used.

While I'm sure you didn't have to necro a thread from nearly 4 YEARS AGO for this question.

EDIT
Not just nearly. The opening post was in May of 2013.
