True, but steam chat history retention is only 2 weeks which is a HUGE plus for anyone who doesn't necessarily value their message history.
I would mainly opt for Steam Chat to stay in touch with friends who prefer not to leave Discord. However, I absolutely refuse to use Discord myself and will stick to Signal as my primary communication platform. Many Discord users also use Steam since it’s essential for most PC gamers to access their games.
But just know you play in Valve's sandbox, you are subject to Valve's moderation.
Due to its convenience, it has always been my primary way to communicate with other people in my friend list.
I have not touched Discord in years.
