What are your thoughts on using Steam Forums and friend chats as the main alternative to Discord? I feel that Valve values my privacy and security much more than Discord ever could.

Steam chat is supper buggy, that's one of the reasons why people use discord.

True, but steam chat history retention is only 2 weeks which is a HUGE plus for anyone who doesn't necessarily value their message history.

I would mainly opt for Steam Chat to stay in touch with friends who prefer not to leave Discord. However, I absolutely refuse to use Discord myself and will stick to Signal as my primary communication platform. Many Discord users also use Steam since it’s essential for most PC gamers to access their games.

Personally I prefer to use paper cups connected by string. Super simple, works well enough, and isn't stuffed full of useless bloated fluff.

Steam chat has some issues here and there, but works for the most part.

Due to its convenience, it has always been my primary way to communicate with other people in my friend list.

I have not touched Discord in years.
